The 2018 Melbourne Violin Competition is Australia’s newest violin competition, supporting violinists, the art culture of Melbourne and promoting the practice and performance of Solo Bach.

The competition has no citizen or age restriction.

Seven semi-finalists from Denmark, Germany, USA, China and Australia will each perform a complete Solo Sonata or Partita by J.S Bach on the 20th of October 2018 at Melba Hall, University of Melbourne, Parkville from 10am.

Three finalists will be selected to perform the following day for a private audience of sixty guests, who will comprise mainly of guest voters

Each will vote anonymously for their favourite performance.

The finalist with the most votes will win the 2018 Melbourne Violin Competition.
